In March 2017, Arts Monongahela celebrates Women’s History Month with an exhibit and series of events dedicated to women in West Virginia’s history. On March 25, there will be a series of events from 10am to 5pm. The day includes:
10am-12pm: “Women Write Risk,” a workshop with Kayla Sargeson ($20 registration fee)
1-1:30pm: Presentation by Inspire West Virginia on women’s involvement in politics;
1:30-2pm: Presentation by West Virginia Women Work about their history and services;
2-3pm: Frances Van Scoy’s lecture on Woodburn Female Seminary Women
3-4pm: Presentation by WVU Professor of Art History Kristina Olson on “The Life and Work of Grace Martin Taylor”
4-5pm: Performance by Judi Tarowsky, “When Sisters Where Soldiers”
The workshop from 10am-12pm, “Women Write Risk” with Kayla Sargeson, has a $20 registration fee. All other events are free.
